All sprinters in 100 meter final at the 2000 Sydney Olympics were suspected in administration of anabolic steroids. Could you imagine it? However numerous things were done to avoid intake of performance-enhancing drugs in sport, it is not free from these medicines.
Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, pointed out in an interview about application of steroids by the 100 meter finalists of the 2000 Olympics. Maurice Greene, Ato Boldon, Obadele Thompson, Darren Campbell, Dwain Chambers, Aziz Zakari, Jon Drummond and Kim Collins administrated the banned medicines.
Victor Conte assures that Dwain Chambers, the British athlete, took steroids. Conte supplied these products to Chambers in 2003. As it is known, Chambers took tetrahydrogestrinone.
Maurice Green, the American sprinter, took steroids, testosterone cream, EPO and certain stimulants. Angel Guillermo Heredia reported that he had sold these preparations to Maurice Green. But it is necessary to notice that this American sportsperson began to buy these drugs from Heredia after he had awarded with 2 medals in Olympics.
However the founder of the BALCO doesn’t know about all details linked with possession and application of steroids by these all sportspersons who participated in the Sydney Olympics, he assures that anabolic steroids had an immense role at the women’s 100 meter final of the 2003 Championship in France. Conte sold steroids to five of the finalists.
Kelly White, the winner, got performance-enhancing drugs from Conte too. After she had tested positive for Modafinil, she forfeited her gold medals. Later Kelly White said that she had used tetrahydrogestrinone and the blood booster EPO.
Conte wasn’t surprised about the progress of anti-doping companies connected with steroids in sport.
